JA's elementary classroom programs offer integrated and sequential activities giving K-6th graders an authentic look at business and economic concepts, career exploration and workforce skills.
Ourselves® introduces students to the concepts of helping, working and savings.
Our Families® discusses the role of families in the local economy and teaches the differences between “wants” vs. “needs”. Our Community® examines the roles of workers in the community, the work they perform and how communities work. Our City® studies careers, the skills needed to work in specific careers, and how businesses contribute to a city. Our Region® introduces students to different resources (natural, human and capitol) and their relationship with regional businesses. Our Nation® provides practical information about businesses’ need for individuals who can meet the demand of the job market. Also introduces the concept of globalization of businesses. JA More than Money® (after school program for ages 7-11) provides primary emphasis on entrepreneurship and financial literacy, with a secondary focus on work readiness. 6 sessions. JA In A DayJA's Done-In-A-Day program is also available for elementary schools looking to conduct all program lessons in a given day.
